Clay Club: the joy and value of mess!

5 week course teaches key skills - slipping, pinching scoring, slabbing and coiling.

Experimenting with clay is a lesson in problem solving, developing resilience and independence.

Develops fine motor skills - clay is a workout for small hands.

Builds confidence. There is no such thing as 'wrong' in clay club. It is a safe place where mistakes and imperfections are part of the process.

Provides a mindful break from the digital world. The tactile nature of clay provides an immersive, therapeutic sensory experience after a busy school day. â€‹â€‹

If your child loves getting hands-on in Clay Club, they might enjoy exploring some of my other teacher-led creative sessions:

Drawing Club: Together we will explore the power of line, shade, and perspective using a variety of media, from charcoal to pastel and pen.

Paint Club: Exploring different types of paint we will learn layering, blending and gilding.

Clay Club, Level 2: For those who have mastered the basics. In this follow-up program, only for Upper Key Stage Two, children will learn how to use internal armatures to support their creations, as well as how to create intricate surface detailing.

All clubs are planned, designed and delivered by an experienced teacher. I handle setup and clean-up, I promise to leave your classroom the way I would like to find it!

My 20 year teaching career has taught me that every child learns differently, which is why Clay Club is designed as a place where everyone, from the quietest dreamer to the most energetic builder, can thrive.

My goal is to provide affordable, purposeful opportunities to develop confidence, problem solving skills and teach children that there is a rewarding world away from their screens where their imaginations can thrive.
